4 Insights From Our CEO's Sales Calls About The Power Bank Sharing Business That Might Surprise You
Power bank rental station

Hi everyone, Emil here. I want to share 4 things I have learned in 2025 based on real conversations that i've had with 100+ potential partners across 40 countries

1. Apps Are Dead - And That's Actually Good News

The Insight: 85% of Brick's users now use Appless / Web checkout instead of downloading apps.

Most people assume power bank rental still requires a dedicated app. The reality, the industry has moved beyond apps entirely.

How the web checkout works: Scan the station's QR code with your normal phone camera. Add a payment method and go. The QR scan opens a 30-second web checkout vs the painful 1.5-minute app download process. Today it's a must to offer this.

Here's a video of how our web checkout works:

2. One Island Beach Club Generates More Revenue Than Most Entire Cities

The Numbers: €7,300-9,000 per month from a single location, averaging 35 rentals per day.

You might believe that you need to cover entire cities, the best locations can be absolute goldmines on their own. The beach club on this island outperforms most partners' entire networks.

3. Vandalism Is a Non-issue

A common concern is vandalism. The truth is that it's super rare. Only one incident has been reported across 4,000+ stations.

Everyone asks about vandalism and theft, for good reasons. But our data tells a different story: Brick's power bank stations are resilient. They last 3-5 years and only break from external force or stupidity, not normal wear.

People respect the stations because it belong to the venue, it's not an e-scooter on the street which people throw in the water for fun.

4. 95% of Power Banks are returned to the Same Station

The Insight: Only 5% move between stations, eliminating inventory management concerns.

Partner leads worry about how complex logistics and inventory tracking across venues will be. But customers almost always return power banks to where they rented them. Shopping Malls can have a larger moving between stations, especially if the rental is sponsored, but it requires a nearby network that allows it.
